Bevendo is the controller of the personal information described in this Policy unless stated otherwise.
The Website is intended for people aged 18 and over. This Policy applies whether you use Bevendo with or without an account.

3. Information We Collect About You
We collect information that you give us, information generated when you use the Website, and limited information we receive from organisations involved in providing the service.
Information You Give Us
- Order and delivery details, including your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, postcode, items ordered and any promotional code used.
- Information you provide when you sign up for newsletters or availability updates, including your email address and, where relevant, your postcode.
- Information you provide when requesting a back-in-stock alert, contacting support, using live chat, leaving feedback or suggesting a retail partner.
- Messages you send through Ask Bevendo, our wine and support assistant.
Information Generated When You Use the Website
- Order, payment and delivery information, including transaction references, order status, delivery status, tracking information, refunds and cancellations.
- Technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device information, security logs and information about how the Website is used.
- Cookie and consent information. Analytics and Advertising technologies are used only where the relevant consent is required and has been given. See our Cookie Policy for more information.
Information From Other Organisations
- Payment status and transaction information from payment providers. Bevendo does not receive or store your full payment card number.
- Order and delivery updates from the relevant retail partner and from delivery providers.
- Address, mapping and delivery-area information from mapping and location services when we verify an address or calculate delivery coverage.
- Security, fraud-prevention, analytics and advertising information from service providers where applicable and permitted by law.
If you do not provide information that is necessary to process payment, fulfil an order or arrange delivery, we may not be able to provide the relevant service.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information only where we have a lawful reason to do so.
The main purposes and lawful bases are:
- To operate the Website, process your order, take payment, arrange delivery, issue refunds and provide order updates; necessary to perform our contract with you or take steps at your request.
- To check delivery coverage, verify addresses, manage stock and promotions, and operate the order process; necessary for our service and our legitimate interests in running it efficiently and accurately.
- To share the information needed for fulfilment with the retail partner selling your products and with Bevendo delivery personnel or third-party delivery providers; necessary to perform the service.
- To manage age-related delivery controls and comply with legal and regulatory requirements; legal obligation and our legitimate interests in operating an alcohol-delivery service responsibly.
- To provide customer support, investigate complaints, prevent fraud, keep the Website secure and protect our rights; contract, legal obligation and our legitimate interests in protecting customers and our business.
- To improve the Website and understand how it is used; our legitimate interests and, where required for cookies or similar technologies, your consent.
- To send newsletters, offers and other marketing, and to measure advertising; your consent or our legitimate interests where permitted by law.
- To send information you specifically ask for, such as back-in-stock or delivery-area alerts; to respond to your request and, where applicable, your consent.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests are generally to operate and improve Bevendo, provide a safe and efficient service, understand customer use, communicate about our services and protect Bevendo, our customers and retail partners.
We do not rely on legitimate interests where your rights and interests override ours.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Website working and, with your permission, for Analytics and Advertising.

6. Marketing and Advertising
If you have placed an order with us or signed up for Bevendo updates, we may send you marketing emails about Bevendo and products, services, offers and recommendations available through Bevendo, where permitted by law.
We may use information such as your previous orders, postcode and use of promotions to make those communications more relevant.
When you place an order, you can opt out of marketing at checkout.
You can also unsubscribe at any time using the link in a marketing email or by contacting info@bevendo.co.uk.
Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages that are needed for an order, delivery, security matter or another request you have made.
Where you consent to Advertising technologies, we may use advertising providers to measure campaigns and show or improve online advertising.

7. AI and Automated Tools
Ask Bevendo uses artificial intelligence to answer questions and make wine recommendations.
When you use it, your message and limited relevant context, such as your saved delivery postcode or nearby shops, may be processed by our AI service providers and the model providers they use.
Please do not include payment card details or sensitive personal information in your messages.
We also use automated tools for functions such as:
- address verification;
- delivery-area calculations;
- fraud and security checks;
- stock management; and
- promotion validation.
We do not currently use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on customers.
8. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements.
We may keep information for longer where reasonably necessary in connection with a complaint, dispute, legal claim, regulatory enquiry or other legal obligation.

We share personal information only where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.
This may include:
- The relevant retail partner, which is the seller of the products in your order, so it can prepare and manage the order.
- Bevendo delivery personnel or third-party delivery providers, so they can collect and deliver the order and provide delivery updates.
- Payment providers, for payment processing, refunds, fraud prevention and payment security.
- Technology and service providers that support the Website and our operations, including hosting, database, mapping, communications, customer-support, analytics, advertising and AI providers.
- Professional advisers, insurers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies, courts or other authorities where reasonably necessary or required by law.
- A buyer, investor or other relevant party if Bevendo is involved in a sale, merger, investment, reorganisation or similar corporate transaction.
Service providers acting on our behalf are permitted to use personal information only as needed to provide their services to us and subject to appropriate contractual protections.
Some recipients, such as the relevant retail partner, may have their own responsibilities under data-protection law for the information they receive.
10. International Transfers
Some of our service providers may process your personal information outside the United Kingdom.
Where personal information is transferred outside the United Kingdom, we use a lawful transfer mechanism where required, such as UK adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual safeguards.

Access is limited to Bevendo personnel, retail partners and service providers who need the information for their role or the service they provide.
No internet service can be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to or from the Website.

- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;

We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns first, but you are not required to contact us before complaining to the ICO.
