This Cookie Policy explains how Bevendo Ltd (“Bevendo”, “we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on bevendo.co.uk (the “Website”), why we use them and how you can control them.

It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use personal data collected through these technologies.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Website working, remember your choices, understand how the Website is used and, with your permission, measure advertising.

Our use of cookies and similar technologies is subject to the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 (PECR), as amended, together with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 where personal data is processed.

We ask for your consent before enabling Analytics or Advertising storage. Storage needed for security, authentication, transactions or a feature you request may be used without optional-cookie consent where permitted by law.

Where we ask for consent, you can reject non-essential cookies as easily as accepting them and change your choices at any time through Cookie Settings.

Cookies are small files stored on your device. Some are set by Bevendo and some by third-party providers we use.

In this Policy, “cookies” also includes local storage, session storage, pixels, tags and similar technologies that store or access information on your device.

4. Cookies and Technologies We Use

We group the technologies used on the Website into three categories: Necessary, Analytics and Advertising. Some third-party services are also activated only when you use the relevant feature.

4.1 Necessary Cookies and Storage

These are necessary to provide the Website or a feature you request and cannot be switched off where an applicable PECR exception applies.

They support core functionality, security and user-requested features. The current implementation includes:

• Bevendo: first-party browser storage used for the shopping basket, the Website’s 18+ age-confirmation gate (which is not proof of age for delivery purposes), delivery postcode and coverage, promotional preferences and user-requested sign-up features, generally retained until cleared or replaced.
• Bevendo: cookie preference storage used to remember your choices, retained for up to 12 months.
• Bevendo: session storage used for navigation and page functionality, generally retained for the browser session.
• Supabase: authentication and signed-in session storage, retained until sign-out, session expiry, replacement or browser-storage clearance.
• Cloudflare and hosting providers: security, bot protection, routing and technical delivery, generally short-lived, although provider-controlled durations may vary.

4.2 Analytics

These cookies are optional and are only enabled if you consent.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Website and to improve our service. Analytics is off by default and is enabled only if you choose it.

• Google Analytics: used to understand Website usage and performance; up to 2 years.

4.3 Advertising

These cookies are optional and are only enabled if you consent.

We use Google Ads and DoubleClick technologies to measure advertising performance and conversions and, where applicable, support advertising or remarketing. Advertising is off by default and is enabled only if you choose it.

• Google Ads / DoubleClick: used for advertising attribution, conversion measurement and, where applicable, remarketing; generally up to 90 days, although some provider-controlled technologies may be short-lived or last up to 13 months.

4.4 User-Requested Third-Party Features

Some third-party services are loaded only when you use the relevant feature.

• Stripe: payment security and fraud prevention during checkout; provider-controlled duration, generally from around 30 minutes up to 1 year depending on the technology.
• Crisp live chat is loaded when you choose to open the chat feature. Crisp uses cookies required to maintain chat sessions; its standard chat cookie duration is up to 6 months and may be renewed when the chatbox is used.
• Google Fonts, image-hosting services and Website hosting/CDN providers may process technical request information necessary to deliver requested content.

5. How You Can Manage Cookies

After the Website’s 18+ age-confirmation gate, we show the cookie banner if there is no valid saved choice.

You can Reject non-essential cookies, Accept all or Manage your choices.

A saved choice is valid for up to 12 months and only for the current consent version; after that, or if the consent version changes, we ask you again.

Necessary storage is always enabled where required to provide the Website or a feature you request.

In Manage choices, you can independently enable or disable Analytics and Advertising.

You can change your mind at any time through Cookie Settings.

Where optional cookies are not enabled, some third-party providers, including Google, may still receive limited technical information necessary to operate their services. Further information about any related personal-data processing is available in our Privacy Policy.

6. Browser Settings

You can also use your browser settings to delete or block cookies and other browser storage.

Restricting necessary storage may affect Website functionality. Clearing browser storage may also remove your saved cookie choice, in which case the Website may ask you to choose again.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the technologies we use, our services or applicable law and guidance.

We will update the Last Updated date above and, where appropriate, provide a notice on the Website or through Cookie Settings.

We ask for a fresh cookie choice no later than 12 months after your most recent choice, and sooner where a change requires fresh consent, for example if we introduce a new cookie category, provider or materially different purpose.

The version history of this policy is maintained internally and previous versions are available on request.
